“It’s On Us “ is a student engagement and conversation campaign that aims to shift the way we think about sexual assault and create positive environments to prevent sexual violence on campus.
"It’s On Us" is a rallying cry inviting everyone to step up and realize that the solution begins with us – the Notre Dame community. It’s a declaration that sexual assault is not only a crime committed by a perpetrator against a victim, but a societal problem in which all of us have a role to play, especially in taking steps to prevent it from occurring on our campus.
The campaign reframes sexual assault in a way that inspires the members of the Notre Dame community to see it as their responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent it. You don't have to do everything, but you need to do something.
We are asking the members of the Notre Dame community to create an environment, be it a dorm room, a party, a club or a team, or the greater college campus, where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported. Every one and every place should be safe at Notre Dame.
